Talking wheels 18"

There a set of 18" wheels for sale made for backdraft cobra in the for sale section.
I have # 84 which i received in 1994, Will this fit?? My car is the second generation model so it is wider than the first cars , also what is your thoughts of 18" wheels over 15" wheels?
I love my 15" wheels with Mickey Thompson, they ride good but i like the idea of a better handling car. I will keep this car to the day i crash

The 15" with MT's would be my choice...would have the look and the performance.... there won't be any 18" on my car ...

Not sure why you have a hard on regarding the 18" wheels. Purchased a set from Backdraft and paid more than the asking price of the wheels your talking about. Not siure about the backspacing of the ones for sale. The ones I got were not polished either.

FYI - those are NOT BDR wheels

In the detailed photos, they are clearly Vintage Wheels in 18".
Bob at Vintage will know if that backspace works with your run #

Reread the ad! I never said these were BDR wheels. It says these were purchased from a BDR dealer (who is now out of business) for a BDR according to the dealer. The ad clearly says these are American Racing Wheels. These are brand new, never mounted and never had tires on these. I don’t know what BDR # the backspacing will be appropriate for. The ad was never intended to be misleading.

When I purchased the spinners and front hubs from BDR, I was told this dealer mounted 18” wheels to BDRs before the factory did.

I had BDR 18s wheels fitted when I ordered my car. #1095, they look fantastic but one of the front tyres rubs on the inside of the fender, only on hard turns, the other side is close but no scuffing on the tyre, I've only had the car on the road a couple of weeks but can't see how I can move the front wheels or rack backwards in the wheel arch where there's heaps of available space, thinking of knocking out the bearing on the arm and resisting it off centre? Gotta creat a problem somewhere hence still looking for alternatives

Backdraft Parts does sell these American Racing 427 wheels. It's been on their website for years. The ones on the BDR parts site are listed as 18x10 rear though and the fronts required different hubs than the regular 17s and 18s. These could also be supplied by Bob at vintage wheels. Not sure how you could tell who supplied them to the dealer.

I did not mean in imply that anything was misrepresented.

I was thinking more that some assistance could be received on the fitment and backspacing.

They are great wheels, I have the 17" version.

The price is great - GLWS

Yep, very good deal indeed. If they were the widths I was looking for I would snatch them up right away.
