Default BDR Number

Where on the chassis or body would I find the BDR number of my Backdraft RT3? I have the long 17-digit VIN nr stamped on the chassis, but you guys are all quoting a short 4-digit nr for your Backdrafts.

Good question... I've often wondered the same thing. I only know I have #509 from speaking to the people at BackDraft. Perhaps that's the only way? Looking forward to seeing responses...

I believe it is on the cross frame where the radiator reservoir sits.

The VIN # on the plate located on the upper firewall on the driver's side is the same VIN # stamped in the cross frame that has the radiator reservoir attached (at least on my Backdraft R3 Cobra). My four digit build number has nothing to do with the VIN #. My build number is stated in the Operator's Manual that came with the car when I purchased it new. Call Reg in the home office in Florida with your VIN #. He can give your the four digit build number.

I would love to learn if anyone gets the Boynton Beach Boys to respond.

You bet they'll respond. At least when I called, I spoke directly with Reg the first time ... what a nice, professional guy. He went out of his way to answer all my questions. That type of customer service goes a long way with me.
