Default Anyone on forum have Backdraft car reg in NJ recently?

Hello, I am new to the forum and in the process of buying a new Backdraft from the company itself out their FL dealership. As I am going to be in the application and inspection process with NJ DMV soon, I am wondering what specifically is involved and what to expect. I did a search through old threads and think I have a rough idea. I also came across Jonathan Motorcars after my purchase (unfortunately...figure this goes smoother when they are handling it as they do it regularly) and got some info from them.

Just now looking for specifics of what is the letter format Backdraft's engine building company will need to provide and when, things I should make sure I do, things I should avoid, etc. Happy to discuss through PM as well if anyone is available. Thanks in advance.

If you have a second home in Florida or a friend that does, it is a much simpler registration process down there. No Inspection is required and they will consider it a 1965 vehicle, and even give you antique plates. I drive mine in NY mainly and have had no police issues, knock wood. Good luck!!

Hi Bill-- True but with a twist. My BDR was originally registered in NJ and when I bought it and registered it into FL they would not recognize the way NJ had it. So I lost the 1965-->2008.

Thanks for replies. I will see how it goes and look to that as a backup plan. I hear NJ dealer seems to get them through with little issue now so hoping this isn't too much trouble.
