Does anyone know from what BUILD# or VIN will all of the upgrades be included on the RT4?

Update: Learned today from BUILD #2025 forward for the front struts.

Mines build #1938 but wasn’t built until end of February/March so I wonder what mine has? Says it has Big and Tall but I’m only 6’ and 220 and seats are not comfortable at all and I find it hard to see anyone taller than me fitting in it plus there is no drop box or recess under my pedals!? Did they do away with this and just drop the whole floor down? By other pics I have seen I know for a fact my seats are not the wider ones but with S Africa being on a lockdown there’s really nothing backdraft can supposedly do?

Jason,

If your RT4 was built in 2020 it is the new RT4 with BMW suspension and by default the big and tall as the factory is no longer building the RT3.

Is this your car? https://www.backdraftracing.com/comp...938?Itemid=101

We have had Rt4s shipped with the old seats so that possibly happened to you.

Please send me pictures of the interior, seats and floor and I will verify. RT4s do have the drop floor. jeff@nostalgicmotoring.com

Happy to help you.

Thanks

Jeff

Jason,

Some more input but feel free to email or call me so I can explain the evolution of RT4s during 2019 and 2020.

We have 1932 which was delivered in August. 1932 is VERY different from 1983 which was delivered in December. I can explain the differences.

If you have 1938 it was not built in March 2020. This is older inventory circa August 2019 when our 1932 was built which explains the difference from current builds.

If you are not seeing the dropped footwell it is likely there in the frame but the glass shell is covering it (we have seen that on some RT4s). I would put on a lift and checking the underside.

Feel free to contact me directly.

Jeff

Jason,

I'm curious to know all about the Backdraft production now that I'm a new owner as well. Love the look of the car!

So I can learn as well, how can you tell the difference between the RT3 and RT4 other then comparing the new options included on the 4. Can you tell just by looking at the Jason's car?

Gus

Any information would be appreciated.

Gus, Jeff was a HUGE help. I do have the 4, it’s a earlier model, which wasn’t made aware to me, so I do have a drop pan under the pedals that is covered up be a piece of sheet metal. My only issue is the width of my seats which are apx 13” across the sitting area. Other than that I love this thing, especially with the Roush 427

Jason, Agree, Jeff was helpful and we've now connected with a new source.

Love your yellow with black stripe combo! Real eye catcher!

Good luck and safe driving.
