Default Headlight trim rings

Is there another source aside from Iconic for the plastic headlight trim rings on BDRs?

Default Headlight rings

Have you installed the ones from finish line. About a year ago, Iconic sent me a metal one by mistake that they said were replacements and it did not fit without a lot of modification. I have the plastic but would prefer metal. I wonder if they are the same as the finish line.

I haven't purchased any from Finishline, but in the thread I linked they said it was a good fit for the BDR.

I bought stainless ones from Ebay (UK) several years ago for around $30 for the pair w/ shipping and will never go back to plastic! I imagine Finishline's are of equal quality and quicker shipping.

Aside from the material, what makes the metal trim ring nicer than the plastic one? From far away, don't they look identical? Even close up, isn't it hard to distinguish between the two?

Default Trim Rings

You are absolutely correct. They look the same. Plastic ones break easily especially around the screw area. I have broken them just by carelessly leaning on them.

The plastic ones get dull over time.

Why would Backdraft use plastic? In my mind it just cheapens the product.

Agreed. The new rings arrived and I have to say, the metal rings look much better, mostly because there is a slight difference in the profile of the ring, The taper down to the headlight from the body is more fluid. Much smoother line.
