Default Taillight replacement

Is it possible to replace the round taillights that come stock on our BDRs with the rectangular version without any modifications to the body?

To me, it appears that on cars that have the rectangular lights the body is flatter in that area.

Also, what kind of re-wiring would be needed to convert from 2 bulbs to one bulb?

From the video link provided, it appears the fiberglass area
between the 2X bulb housings needs to be removed.
Also the lower taillight cutout needs to be partially filled+painted.

Video shows whole process but is in French, so best of luck with that.

Never fear! It's easy to get the English translation in closed captioning (CC) when you are watching.

First, click on CC

Then click on the little gear next to the CC

Finally, click on Autotranslate and scroll down to English

Happy viewing,

Tom

If you don't want to mess with it yourself, just find a competent fiberglass bodyman. It'll be a piece of cake for him. Then, I'd recommend going with LED rectangular lights. Mine look original, until I hit the brakes, and then, they'll definitely get someone's attention.
