Speaker swap out... or better idea?
Hey gents-
Currently there are 4 normal size speakers in the car and then 2 tweeters, one by the door and your shoulder. I'm not in love with the speakers between the driver and passenger on the wall, but I do like having loud music. Maybe if they blended in better, I wouldn't mind it.
EDIT: currently 4 Speakers and 4 tweeters
Amp in the trunk running to a bluetooth receiver. Works great, just time to replace the speakers.
What are people running that want music and have it somewhat hidden?

A radio and speakers in a Cobra? That's a joke, right?

NO CUTTING, NO AMPS, BRILLIANT SOUND, PORTABLE, NO BATTERY DRAIN, NO WIRING, ALMOST UNDETECTABLE, WATERPROOF, LONG BATTERY LIFE!
I have 2 JBL flip 5's (mid/highs) speakers the size of a 16oz drink and 1 JBL boom box 2 (BASE) in the trunk that all pair together via one button on each speaker. Now I can use my phone to play music wirelessly.
The flip 5's I have velcro strapped to the floor in front and against the front of the seats. The Boom box sits in the truck between the 2 roll bar supports (bungee cord attached)
JBL Boombox 2 -https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086C14ZPY/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_apa_fabc_AuHdGbS9PB231
JBL FLIP 5, Waterproof Portable Speaker https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QK18BNY...ing=UTF8&psc=1
***All of this can be instantaneously removed for other uses in the house, pool side, beach, yard. Total cost $550. Check the reviews on all these speakers (5 of 5). Hope this helps.

This is not an endorsement for Thunderbird123's recommendation, as I have no experience with that product. However, I can strongly recommend JBL! I purchased a pair of JBL 4312 Control Monitors in about 1987 for a home audio system that have never disappointed and are still performing flawlessly today. If you feel they will work for your needs, listen to them at a vendor before you buy, then make your decision. Good luck with finding a solution that works for you.

Probably would work great in a home audio application but in a cobra?? If you want to have music in your ride buy a Corvette

I was not suggesting he use the JBL speakers I purchased in 1987. Just an endorsement for JBL. I personally would not install an audio system in my Cobra, for whatever that’s worth, to each his own. If I wanted to listen to music while driving my Cobra, I’d use ear buds which I do use while riding my motorcycle. I’m not one for telling someone how they should live their life and don’t want to be told how I should live mine, live and let live.

Not every jurisdiction bans earbuds. Some allow a single earbud, while others may only consider them unlawful if they result in distracted driving.
The same could probably be said for speakers at a high volume if they're sufficiently loud so as to prevent hearing of sirens from police or emergency vehicles, or horns from other vehicles.

I'd lighten up and try some music in the car. It's enjoyable, maybe you can chill out too... sounds like you may need to. You can even use your red driving gloves while you enjoy some tunes.

Matt,
I always had great experiences using Crutchfield for car audio equipment. If you take out your old speakers and measure them OD and depth their charts will help you select replacements. Granted you can find cheaper prices else ware but the info they provide for decisions is worthwhile.
Typically you'd start on the "What fits your car" page for a plug and play.
Instead you'll be here: https://www.crutchfield.com/g_400/Al...ml?tp=105&pg=2

Matt, You will need some knowledgeable advise for this to be something you will be satisfied with in the end. If you aren't an experienced audiophile or know someone who is, buy from a vendor who can guide you to the products that will work for your application. I have used Crutchfield's online guides for stock vehicles and have been happy with their recommendations and products. You're application is an open air environment with multiple sources of background noise and interference. Due to your application you will need to play the music at a much higher volume to overcome the background noise. The components you select will need to be designed to perform favorably and survive at the sustained levels required. Give Crutchfield customer support a call, tell them what you want to accomplish and see what they recommend, can't hurt. With that said, I don't have an audio system in my cobra because it is not an ideal environment for listening to music. I use earbuds because it's the cheap easy way to have a pleasurable way to listen to music in an environment that is not conducive to open air audio systems. Now I'm not saying my way is the best way, or the rite way, just the solution that works for my limited means. Good luck in your endeavor.
John

I’m going with you on this, ordered mine today. I like the idea it does not require any cutting to add these in.
