Default Stronger Trunk Hinges

When I lift the trunk lid, the hinges seem to flex and cause the lid to come into contact with the body at the front edge closest to the roll hoops. When I lower the trunk there is not contact. I've searched here, but I'm new and couldn't find anything related to this.

Has this been addressed before? When the lid is down there is a pretty even gap all the way around and the lid latches firmly. I've tried to adjust to gap a bit more, but then the latch doesn't want to catch and stay in place.

Thanks
Greg

If you are on Facebook take a look at this kit that has different hinges and allows you to open your trunk all the way with a gas shock keeping it open. Here is a link to an older thread about it. The facebook link is in this thread.

Thanks, Fred. I saw that post, I didn't realize the hinges were a new design. I have reached out to him.

Default Hinges

They are his own design that allow the trunk to open all the way to vertical.
