Default Humming Fuel Pump

Yesterday I heard a continuous humming sound coming from the gas tank, obviously the fuel pump. Some research said it was normal, others say it requires a new pump. I recently purchased the vehicle and yesterday was the first time I heard this sound. In June of 2021, the previous owner had the fuel pump replaced. The tank was full and the vehicle ran fine throughout the day. The car was built in 2019 with the Gen 2 Coyote, original mileage on the car is 3600. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Builds that have an externally mounted fuel pump, do typically make noise, so this may be normal. Now, if you have an in-tank fuel pump, it should not be too loud, many people don't even hear it.

If you have an external pump, and are looking to switch to an internal style, we do offer a fuel tanks. One of the styles has an integrated spot for an internal fuel pump to be installed, sold directly through our parts department. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns @ 561-327-4944, or via email, sales@iconicparts.com

I have an internal pump and you can hear it humming when you turn the key but it’s not continuous. I replaced the original fuel pump shortly after I bought the car. I got stranded one afternoon because the wiring at pump came loose. I replaced the pump with an aeromotive and replaced the wire connectors with ring terminals. The new pump was definitely quieter than the walboro that came with the car. Not sure if the pump was going bad or if the pump was just louder. I was told the walboro pump was good pump. I didn’t like how the wire connected to pump. Felt it would come loose over time.

Thanks for the info. This pump was replaced by the previous owner and I am not sure of the brand. All I know is it extremely loud and embarrassing to drive. I definitely don't have the confidence to take it for a long drive. I will need to take it to a high performance shop to have it evaluated.
