Any recommendations for analysis labs to mail a sample to?

Blackstone

Request the free oil sample kit online.

Send in sample.

Cost of standard analysis = 30.00

Another free kit is sent automatically for future follow up.

I’ve been sending oil samples to Blackstone for more than 25 years. I can’t say how they stack up with the other companies that also offer this service, Blackstone is the only company I have used. With the exception of a few bumps in the road over the years, I’m happy with the service provided by them. The standard used engine oil analysis provided by them will flag any anomalies in the sample based on their analysis of oils from other similar engines and oils. For an additional fee they will also do an additional TBN analysis. The TBN analysis gives you an indication of how much of the additives in the oil remain. You do not want to continue to use an oil where the additives are depleted. If you are interested in finding more information on what oil analysis can and can’t provide, Blackstone has additional information on their website, as well as other internet sources, which may or may not have the most scientific practices for drawing their conclusions.

Blackstone is the real deal.

There are alternatives but best case scenario they are a push. Blackstone has been around doing this stuff for guys like us since Christ was a Corporal. Not just because they are good but because they have been there through the ups and downs, they deserve our business.
