The ECM part number usually identifies the vehicle and you get sensors for whatever it is. Do you have a number on it?
Some 97-08 Ford V8s do use different sensors up and downstream. Ups do ratio and downs monitor cat performance.
If you have 4 sensors you probably do need them hooked up.
