All of the seats are slightly angled. It has to be that way so that you are pointing to the pedals. Main reason is the placement of the engine yields a wide tunnel and not much left for foot wells. The only alternatives are:
To stretch the car, as some manufacturers have done.
or
Move the engine forward and cause the car to drive like a boat.
