radio mount in BDR

Has anyone mounted a radio and speaker in their BDR. If so where did you mount it. I am looking to conceal it as much as possible including the speakers. I apprecaite any suggestions. I also prefer that it can be removed without leaving a trace it was installed. A basic radio with CD is all I am looking for.

I had a Hidden Audio system installed in #127. It worked via a remote. Everything installed in the trunk (including 10 disc changer) with a small head unit with the RF right under the dash. I had to 4 inch speakers pointing down installed behind the dash and two 6x9's with speaker casing firing through the back wall carpet, in between the seats.

No one could ever tell there was a sound system installed from the outside. As for the trunk, you would have had to stick your whole head in to really even see it.

I will say that the components are not the best, but given the open cockpit and wind noise, it worked well for what I needed it for (acceleration tunes....). You should be able to find them and a dealer location near you online.

It come with a 2 channel system already. Right sidepipe and left sidepipe. If you want the change the music push forward on your right foot.

I haven't yet, but been planning to do something similar to Snak Iyz. CD changer and receiver in trunk, totally remote controlled. They have some where the remote mounts on the steering wheel, or you could just velcro it to the dash and take it with you when you park the car. Speakers in the wall behind the seats. And a decent amp to get over the engine and road noise.

Boredome causes me to want to do silly things. I cannot wax the car anymore, I have all the bugs out of it, so I decided to put a radio in to give me something to do.

Snak Iyz has hit it on the head with the perfect set-up. What does "RF right under the dash" stand for? I love the idea of having the speakers in the trunk blasting through the carpet. I easily have enough room under the dash for the other speakers if I need them. I am no audiophile just want some music besides the engine.

New BDR I also like your suggestion. As far as the remote I just velcro it next to the driver seat on the carpet. I am only going to install the rear speakers intially, if I get enough sound then I am done if not I will wire the front speakers.

Thanks to everyone, although functional I am not that creative and the idea of the speakers mounted behind the carpet makes it all crystal clear!!!

RF stands for the interface or head unit, if you can call it that, that went right under the dash. To the left of the steering column, to be exact.

If you are just going to do rear speakers, make sure you enclose them. Most audio shops have 6x9 'shells' that will cover this. Also, as I mentioned, the Hidden Audio components are not the best. I think someone had mentioned they were lower end Pioneer audio components that had been OEM'd. With the newer systems today, you can get the same type of set and remote with an Alpine, Kenwood, etc.

Depending on the weather, I would take a heater pointed at my crotch versus some tunes.....
