Great article Tommy. If Jay is using DOT 5 in the brakes, you can see why he is suffering from mushy pedal feel: it's prone to the formation of large air bubbles whereas DOT 3/4 fluid allows for the breaking down of air so large bubbles don't form.
The important point for Jay: "If you have already changed to DOT 5, don't compound your initial mistake by trying to switch back. Just change the fluid regularly"
