Glad to hear that you are out there  .
Like Jay says, the small blocks don't really come alive until higher revs. Take it easy, and break that baby in right. Don't worry, once the engine is broken in and you are able to get on the loud pedal, you will get this expression all right: 
Just watch out for the police when you do.
