My experience with BMW front ends has been that the ball joint at the bottom of the strut gets some play in it and the result is a shimmy that just does not go away.A softer sway bar may go some way in helping and 5 lug wheels should always be tightened 1.3.5.2.4 numbering them clockwise or anticlockwise. Just a thought!

Default Problem fixed

Problem is fixed. Alignment was off and put back to specs. Jay is looking into what happened. No harm done.
Thanks for all the help.

I had a shake in my front end and I found the the nut at the top on the strut holder was lose, one side more than the other. This is the spanner nut that holds the front strut cartridge in. Call me if you want me to explain more.
Also I added more camber in the front by adding washers to the bottom of the strut mount.

Great information. Have same problem and will be dropping the car off with Jay and Brian in a week or so. Might be the same problem area.
