STL 2010 Thunderbird Lodge Tour
For anyone reserving a place on the STL Thunderbird Lodge Tour for Sat. be advised that when the charge comes up on your credit card bill it will be for Lake Tahoe Incline Villa with no mention of Thunderbird Lodge.
Mine came in and I didn't recognize the billing line so I disputed it. After some more digging on my part I found out what it was. I'm now in the process of trying to de-dispute the charge with my credit card company.
Not a big problem and I'm sure it will be resolved to everyone's satisfaction but just wanted to give a heads up about the transaction description as it appears on the credit card statement.

Thanks for the post Don.
I believe that the confusion was due to how ticketing is normally handled. Incline handles the booking for the tours for the lodge and usually provides shuttle service to and from Incline and the Thunderbird lodge. However, since I know most folks would not be comfortable with leaving their cars parked at Incline Village, I made special arrangements with the Lodge and Incline to park our cars at the Lodge for our visit.
Note: For those going to Snakes and that have not been on this tour it is very interesting and worth the price of admission. Thunderbird lodge

Tom,
The tour is at 9:30am. This is the only tour that day since the lodge is reserved for the afternoon which also helped us with our parking request (on site at the lodge). There is only 1 tour of the lodge and it includes the entire lodge and secret passages, the boat house and gardens.
hope this helps,
Mike
BTW: I'll be sending out more info to everyone thats registered in the next few days.

FWIW this is a fun tour. Carolyn and I went on the last one and feel it's worth a return trip.

Press:
Haven't decided yet if I'm going to drive the car down or trailer it. Depends on the long range weather forecast and I won't be making the final decision until Wed. the 8th. If I trailer down I will need a spot in the Press and Jennifer Trailer and RV Storage Yard. I'll give you a call when the decision is made.
Glad to see you and Jennifer will be making the trip. Still waiting to see where they're going to have lunch in Auburn so we know how to budget our time to meed them. Might have to allow up to 10 minutes since we'll be staying at the Holiday Inn again in Auburn.

I'll be signing up for this since I've never been to this thing before. I camped nearby but the hike was kind of long.

So Mike, do we need to talk to someone specific for us to park "at" the lodge instead of busing it?
I'm signed up now so should be fun.

Herman,
On parking "at" the lodge. Everyone that's taking the Thunderbird tour will leave the hotel at the same time on Sat. AM. when the group arrives at the lodge they will use the phone at the gate and someone at the lodge will then open the gate and direct the group on parking.
