SB100, Smog Cert Rquired notice

Has anyone in CA received a smog notice on a SB100 certified Cobra?
I received my registration renewal notice and was very surprised to see
a "Smog Certification Required" notice on it. It's SB100 certified and I've never had to smog the car. Anyone run into this issue? Thanks...
