Default Steve McQueen as Bullitt at the Paramount!

Bullitt is playing on the big screen at the Paramount in Oakland next Friday. They've been showing all the great old movies on the full size gigantic screen. The seats are big and comfortable and they have a full bar. You can buy tickets in advance if you don't want to stand in the long line the night of the show.
I recommend you leave the Cobra at home if you ever want to see it again.

Calendar of Events: Paramount Theatre, Oakland
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 @ 8:00 PM
Paramount Movie Classics
BULLITT
[Running time: 114 minutes]
Box Office opens @ 6:00pm | Doors open @ 7:00 | Curtain rises @ 8:00pm
All Tickets: $5.00 (ticket prices include $2.00 facility fee)

BULLITT (1968) - Steve McQueen plays SFPD detective Frank Bullitt who goes after the underworld boss who had the witness under Bullitt's protection killed. Despite political interference from an ambitious District Attorney (Robert Vaughn) and the complaints of his long-suffering girlfriend (Jacqueline Bissett), nothing distracts Bullitt from his mission. Directed by Peter Yates, this is the movie that established the late, great Steve McQueen as a superstar. It's also the movie that features the most memorable car-chase scene in film history - ten solid adrenaline-inducing minutes of acceleration and deceleration, of smoking tires and screaming gears slamming up and down the roller coaster streets of San Francisco. If there was an Oscar for best stunt driving, Steve McQueen would have won it hands down. Yes, that's the star himself behind the wheel of that Ford Mustang! Bullitt did win the Academy Award for Best Film Editing

This is one movie that MUST be seen on the big screen. Still remember the feel in the pit of my stomach going over the crowns of the hills. Seeing it on television never did the chase scene justice.

Maybe it is because I am young but the only good thing in the movie is the the car. The chase is the best part. I love seeing the beetle over and over again! lol

Oscar for Best Film Editing??....they pass that that green beetle a dozen times, the Charger loses all 7 of it's hub caps, and the cars manage to go to the body during the chase scene....it is still my second favorite car movie...next to Gumball

Wish I lived closer
