Yes but that will be a claim against my car's liability portion of the insurance policy, unless the insurance company refuses to pay...

Ok Boys here is the latest word from my attorney regarding this matter:

" the fact that you are acknowledging that the sidepipes are very hot means that you are taking the most reasonable precautions that you can. THis is not admission of liability but informing someone to watch out for themselves or their kids on those sidepipes. Nor I think that at car shows with classic cars one needs to be warned, but this is the right thing to do. Is it "fool proof" No, but that is why you carry insurance and the folks at the insurance company will handle it for him."

THis is from an attorney who is also a car enthusiast and has a Vette with side pipes as well.
