				 CA DMV - It's Official
 Hi Guys,
I was one of the weary many that lined up on Friday 1/2/2004 for my SB100 number got out of there at 11:15 with the documents in hand and was assigned 2004051 for my Unique and 2004052 for the Daytona Coupe. In reality it was not that bad of an experience........I was sitting at lunch and enjoying a bloody mary with six other BACC friends at 11:45.

In the mail today I recieved a document with the OFFICIAL state stamp , BAR instructions and the certificate that has the SB100 number on it Yeah !!!

The DMV is more efficient than I thought and I can now start the next steps.

Best Regards,

Tony R. |

				 WOW!!!
 Holy Sh*t, Tony, that's FAST!!!
Last year, it took the DMV over 2 weeks to get send me my official SPCN documentation.

This is great news. I hope everyone else receive their official SPCN documentation so quickly.

Thanks for for the update, Tony!

 Regards,
 Randy R...

 Guys,
I was one of the people that hired a registration service to get my SB100 number. I just coudn't make it to the DMV last Friday. I finally found out about 3 minutes ago I am number 2004-207! It took all day Friday, Monday and part of the day today! In any case it looks like the panic is over. Those of you still building may not have to shift into overdrive to finish your car. The DMV "thinks" the numbers should last through February. Just a guess on their part, but this is based on past history and the slowdown already happening. Also, they still are planning on putting out 500 numbers. They know nothing about the 400 max with 100 for last year's fiasco. So, I hope that is true! In any case, I am finally able to drive my car legally! Now I guess the fun will really begin with a trip to CHP, BAR, etc. I hope my documents come just as fast as yours Tony!

 Well done Tony!!
 And on a related note:

The local Cobra clan has prepared the "bill" and Senator Kawamoto will introduce late this month or next to the legislature. Looks good, were hopeful it will pass and soon there WILL be a way to register a replica here.

Fundraiser for Sen. Kawamoto Thursday night, $25 a plate, your all invited of course! We WILL be there!

,,,,,,and you think Calif is tough????

Dave,

Wheeler is the man. I'm real interested to see how your new shocks dyno. Did Wheeler tell you a story or two? You should get your certificate tomorrow. We are just closer to Sacramento.

I just got back from the shop. I know you don't want to hear this but my car is sitting on all 4's and ready for Saturday morning home coming. Seeing the car on the ground reminded me of why I chose the JBL. It is just un-real.

Let's talk tomorrow.

John

 Ernie.......
I know that there are several replicas, and possibly 1 or 2 CSX4000 series cars on the island. Is the state giving these car owners a hard time? Have they stopped registering replicas?
Looking to get my car over sometime soon. Let me know what changes with this new bill.

 Thanks.....

 Tony......
Nice going! I've drafted a letter to the new DMV Director, so will have to wait and see if I'll be back on the road soon.

I really feel so bad for you CA guys and all those registration hassles, except on just about every damn day of the year, when the weather's suitable for driving your cars......
I lived in the Bay Area for about a decade, and I seriously hope that does get worked out. As we all know, what happens in CA has a curious way of migrating back in this direction.
