Don't Forget--- Lake San Antonio Cruise March 29th.

The cruise is setup for March 29. We will meet in front of the Salinas Airport as is is right off the freeway and has a few big paved areas for us to gather in. We will meet between 9:30 and 10:00 AM so we can be to the Lake between 11:30 and Noon. We can either cruise down Hwy.101 or part way down River Rd. which is more curvey and senic. The Parks Dept. is giving us a discount on the park entrance fee so the fee per car is only $6.00. Howard and I are buying the food and drinks and would only ask a small amount per person to help pay for the food. Howard is going early to start the fire and cooking. So anyone that wants to join us, please let us know as soon as possible as we need a head count for buying the food. We will also have our own paved area to park in at the lake (large enough for about 60 cars) and it has a nice view. The Parks Dept. is setting up a party size BBQ and picnic tables just for us. Please join us and feel free to invite any others with Cobra's, Shelby Mustangs or any Hot Ford. For anyone coming from the south looking for a place to stop and meet on the way, there's an In N Out Burger in Santa Maria, just off 101, west side of the freeway, Stowell Rd. exit.

Show up around 9:00 and we'll leave at 9:30 to meet up with another group in Atascadero. Any takers?

Any one in the Bay area ( San Jose/Milpitas) is joining this cruise?

IF yes, we can meet somewhere close and drive to Lake as a group

It sounds from the replies we got that there will be between 30 to 40 shelbys of all sorts. It may even get as many as 50 cars, so for a casual cruise and get together, I think we are doing pretty well. the small group of us here on the central coast have done a Big Sur cruise last year which turned out great and we are thinking of a Salinas valley winery cruise if people think that might be fun. we also want to do another Big Sur cruise so if anyone wants to name a Saturday, we are up for it. Hope to see as many of you as can make it.

We will be using the main boat ramp parking lot near the store at South Shore. For anyone that knows the area, you should not have any problem finding us. Anyone that has never been there, there are maps posted along the road and at the entrance gate. I think if you mapquest it, you should be ok.

Tan,I'm in Gilroy and I'll be meeting another guy from Los Banos at the Starbucks in Gilroy Crossings by Hi-way 152 around 7:30-8 am.We could caravan to Salinas Airport.
