Ever been pulled over driving your Cobra?

Memorial day I was cooking some burgers, my cobra was in the garage with the doors open when a the deputy sherriff rode bye, I looked down a minute then looked backup an he was in my driveway. He said is that a cobra an could he look at it. He wanted to know how fast I had been in it. I told him to come back 1 day an I would give him a ride. Had i wave me down so he could here it run. Another time me an the wife were going to see a friend we came up on a road check started looking for my insurance card before I could get it out they told me they were going to confiscte the cobra for being illegall, then started laughing, they didnt even look at my card or licensce. The cops love it.

Once. Convinced the cop that I was indeed just heading home and wasn't out raising hell on a Saturday afternoon. Turns out I knew him from a previous neighborhood incident that he helped several families with (including mine), and he was a gearhead to boot! We jawed for 10 minutes about his BMW track car. All these people were driving slowly by thinking "The dude in the red Cobra got nailed!", and we were just shooting the bull on race cars. He told me to take it easy and I idled her home with a big sigh of relief.

Had a few other close calls, but that was the only pull-over (knocking on wood).
