Default SPF at Gilroy DMV

OK fess up. Who was it? I was at the DMV yesterday dropping off some paperwork after selling my gas hog Durango. Anyway what do I see in the parking lot but a great looking Indigo Blue SPF. I want to say the stripes were darker than the usual titanium, but I could be wrong. Has an August TOP.

I hunted around for a nervous looking guy with a brick of paperwork inside but couldnt find the owner.

Anyway hi!

Daryl

Daryl,
You can buy my wifes Escalade. I think the average gas mileage is up to 12.5 miles per gallon!!!

Joe,

I'll give you $5.00 for your H2, but you have to sell it to me with a full tank of gas and the car trailer attached to it.

My brother-in-law just bought a used H2 and it's been at the dealer longer than his own driveway.....the extended warranty hasn't covered jack S#%$.

Thanks for the offers gentlemen. Honestly if you want an SUV right now prices are amazingly cheap. The family that bought my Durango got an amazing deal. Theres just no buyers. I had it for sale for almost 2 months. First people to come look at it bought it on the spot.

We went with the ultra sexy minivan. Nothing brings the ladies like a Honda Odyssey rolling with 3 car seats, not to mention all the thumbs up and waves! Actually I really like the van. Gets about 20mpg, tons of room. Door popers and sliding doors are soooo nice.

My commute is almost 80 miles roundrip per day. My old Acura 3.2TL (180K miles) gets 27 mpg back and forth over the hill, which ain't bad.

I've been looking at some of the smaller CUV's as replacement and I'm amazed how crappy the mpg ratings are (i.e Acura RDX combined city/hwy is ~20 mpg).

Doug, take a look at the Highlander Hybrid. It gets about 25+mpg.

My commute is 64 miles round trip. I have a 99 Cvic EX commute car. 32-34 mpg a 165K. It has just started to have a few issues. It is in right now for a head gasket. Very minor leak. It just started to get warmer than usual and eratic. I thought it might be the fan but it is starting to loose water. That is when it starts to warm up. Never actually overheated. It's the first time it has had anything go wrong. I think I will start looking into another commuter car. I have a feeling the nickel and dime stuff is going to start.

Rodney - I looked at the Highlander Hybrid. Pricey and the body is sooooo boring. I drove an Escape Hybrid. It wasn't too bad, but I know that I'd never drive it for 200K miles.

Terry - Sounds like the Civic's a great commute vehicle. You just can't beat the Japanese cars for longevity. I rented a Civic Hybrid one time and thought it was pretty cool.

Ok...way off topic from Daryl's original thread....who drove their SPF to the Gilroy DMV? Probably safe in Gilroy, but I wouldn't leave my SPF in the parking lot for two seconds at the Santa Clara office.

Is this the point where I tell you guys that my wifes E55 (yes Kristin has an E55)

--well it gets better gas millage the faster it goes....

70MPH 19MPG
90 MPH 23MPG

after 105MPH benz kicks in a wider pulse on the injectors and millage plummets.

Steve - Not bad freeway mileage. I bet if you romp on the E55, you're in Cobra mpg territory. My wife and I drove her SLK320 down to SoCal last weekend and got 28 mpg.

i have been seeing more scooters and bike out of late. this is good and bad. they tend to screw up the paintwork and leak on things when you hit them.
