Default Mountain View

Hey Guys,

Still consider myself a 'newbie' here as I have not had the opportunity to visit /meet any of the local cobra fanatics. That said, I am the proud owner of a Kirkham and would like to attend, if a spot is open! Hey, its the day before my 52nd birthday and seems like it would be a great way to both kick off the weekend and expose my baby to the world.... a standard issue Kirkham, but pretty special to a guy who spent his teens rebuilding Triumphs and Spitfires!!

Let me know if a spot remains available?

Thanks!

al

Default Free Ice Cream!

Al,

That's the first time I've heard "standard issue" and "Kirkham" used in the same sentence.

Congratulations on your new car and welcome to the BACC! Not only do you have a spot, but as our newest president you will have the prime spot at the Mountain View show AND Scootter's ice cream coupon.

A group of us meet for breakfast in Mountain View on the 3rd Saturday of the month, and occasionally at other times. Watch for the "Breakfast at Baji's" thread, as you certainly would be welcome to join, meet everyone and show off you new Cobra.

Where are you located?

Chuck

Default Thanks a Bunch

Chuck,

Thanks for the gracious welcome, etc! Have to be honest, love the Kirkham, but came pretty darn close to going with an SPF or a CSX....even had a deposit on a CSX (4097, I think?) with folks out of Irvine. In the end, it was a visit to Provo and several talks with the fabulous 'Joe Weight' that got me hooked.....so a Kirkham it was. Got Dave and Tom to sign under the hood....along with the guys who worked it signing the rear panel in the trunk. Fun stuff.

Would like to think that after several years of rebuilding TR6's TR4A's, etc, I would have had more into the 'Kirkham decision' than an emotional, visceral election to move forward...but so it was....and no regrets. Heck, all Cobras are pretty to me..they all get a look, no matter the type or vintage....a bit like the old adage "even a 6 is a 10 at 2AM"!

Thanks for extending the welcome, etc. I am hoping to make my way down. To confirm, is it the 4th or 5th?? I believe the attached flyer is clear, but it appears there is a small bit of confusion? If the 5th, I am probably toast....turning 52 and wife and kids will want to hang out....heck, probably me too!

Ya know, I have had the Kirkham for 9 months now...and have under 400 miles....work, family commitments, lots of other 'excuses'. That said, it has brought along 4 THOUSAND smiles.....A drive to MV would add another 50 or so, round trip. I am in Redwood Shores/Redwood City.

Sounds like a great bunch of folks.....If you have a moment to confirm the date, that would be great. Would really enjoy seeing the fanatics, etc.

On a side note, I have to say that 'Tom' (mid-peninsula) had previously extended a kind welcome to me and my wife. Have the BACC calendar, etc. Great stuff.

Here's hoping the calendar works out!

Regards!

al
