Way to expensive at $45K, look at the market. Just joking it is priced right at $45K with 5K miles. Engine manifold shows some discolor, maybe valve cover leaking. I saw two cars identicle to this one with less than 500 miles go for $50K each in flawless condition. Market is soft and getting softer.

Actually, this looks like a very reason price for a low miles SPF with a Roush 402 AND an SB100 CA title. I wonder what the reserve is...

Guessing that the reserve is going to be somewhere around $43K. Good price for a late model SPF with SB100.

whats with the VIN number? Perhaps its a Michigan assigned VIN? If anyone is looking at it you should figure that out first, but with SB100 it may not matter.

Boy, the price of SPF's have come down like a brick in the last six months.

Cars like that one with sb100 exemptions were getting $54-$56K, ouch!

For sure. But it's not just isolated to SPFs.

Everything has come down in price, not just SPF's. Sheesh, Flip bought that Kirkham on eBay for $68,000.

Note to Flip: Yes, Flip, I keep bringing it up. I still almost go into convulsions thinking about it. But! I'm happy for you!

The car didn't hit reserve. Last bid was $38.1K.

The drop in prices started well before the current financial crisis, which now only serves to escalate a downturn. This started about the same time BDR came on the scene. Several things happened, in my opinion.

1. The idea that 'anything' goes when your building a replica Cobra. What ever parts, engines, spec's you want you could get, cheap. There was no concern about building anything 'period correct' because the cost was so high compared to what you could build with modern parts. Justification was not price but 'modern is better' blah blah blah. Which remains, again in my opinion, just a cover story for 'cheaper is better'.
2. More and more 'kits' were offered at ever lower prices and they continue to flood the market with relatively inexpensive replica's.
3. Replica's, having been around for so long means theres a reasonable supply of older versions at a nice price. Exclusivity is rapidly disappearing, lowering the price.
4. With the lower prices the market expanded to include those who in the past could not afford to get into a replica. Thus, a larger pool of potential owners, buying more cars, lowering the price even farther.

This is just my opinion on what's happening and continues to happen to the market. Good, bad, ugly, whatever, thats your call.

RodKnock,

That's ok - I still have to pinch myself - it is not a dream - I was in the
right place at the right time with just enough $ and got very lucky.
Prices are down and this time of year the market gets saturated because
a lot are trying to sell before winter returns so they won't have to look at it
in the garage while there is a foot of snow outside.
I see some are ambitious in pricing such as the E M with the Shelby engine
for $78,500? All I can say to that is good luck! There are several on Ebay
that will receive "no bid's" because there are plenty of others out there for
much less. Let the market decide. I waited and watched and for me it worked. I be happy!

There is a red Kirkham Street 427 on e-bay right now. Any thoughts on the value of this car (in today's market). Sixty-eight thousand sounds like a good deal for a Kirkham S/C.

It looks like the SF dealer is selling this one. At quite a mark-up over others. It is about twice the going rate.

You think this car should be 45,000? I would take it for that! Or, are you referring to the SF car?
