very nice FIA, nicely done. $6M is hard to believe especially head to head with a 917/10.
but true historic cars with a certified pedigree are always sought after/prized.

I do wonder if the values of the Shelby cars are on a bell curve, and as they get older ( and we get older ) question: are they going to wane in value at some point in the future >?

case in point : when i drive my black 64 1/2 around people know its a mustang, when I drive my SPF "Cobra" around, most people under 40 have no clue what it is.

Sorry - I missed you guys.

				 Few more Pics...
Had a great time - the weather was perfect.
Here are a few more pics of CSX 2323:

Please note that windshield tilted back. It was tilted forward to pass tech inspection, then Dan would pull the windsheild back and gain 3 MPH on the straight-aways.

Here's a good shot of the engine:

CSX 2323 was rebodied by Shelby after Dan brought it back from France - Shelby was not willing to bring it back, so Dan bought it from Shelby only if Shelby agreed to rebody it. Note the dealer's plate, and 1964 reg tag.

Here's one of six (or seven?) Gran Sports - yes, it is surrounded by Porsche 959's (six of them to be exact, including one owned by Ralph Lauren):

Ever see side draft webers like these? Check out the star on the fender - this car is driven!

Wheels look familiar?

Last, we were told that this is the very first road-worthy Duesenberg ever made - the owner turned down an offer of $20M. I have no clue it we were being told a story or fact, but here it is:

Great lunch (once Doug's Burger had a do-over on the grill ) and wonderful tour. The museum / showroom is very well laid out. The shop area was spotless, interesting to see cars in various stages of servicing or restoration. An amazing collection to be sure. Thanks guys for setting this up. |

Great to meet everyone at Bruno's and then head to Canepa. Sean is a great tour guide, and has been incredibly accommodating both times I've been there.
I about had a heart-attack just looking at what Got-the-Bug-Doug ordered for lunch. Of course, my 1/3 lb burger with the onion ring and the BBQ sauce wasn't light on my arteries , either...

And a good time was had by all!!
It was great to get to meet every one - especially since it only took 5 minutes to get there . Thanks for setting it up. Hope we can all hang out together soon. When the weather is nicer perhaps the new Hooters on Bascom by Hamilton in Campbell.

Anyone been to Grand Tetons in Sunnyvale? I haven't been, but someone said it was like Hooters, but with servers that are a little older.

 Nice pics.
I kinda wanted a picture of Doug's infamous burger. I guess they didn't have any Vegan or Kosher meals there, huh? |

Though I don't have a Shelby Registry, I did look thru my Shelby book (archives by Friedman) - anyway, CSX 2323 seems to have only run "notably" at Targa Floria and even then it broke - I'm not sure if it even finished. Hmmm... Cobra 289 factory race car = yes. $6M = I don't think so... Try $1M, may $1.5M at the most... |

My car may not be as shiny as yours, Scott, but it does have that patina of speed! Or is that just abuse? Rich |
