Default LSA powered Cobra

G'day all,

Just wanted to drop in and say hi. My name is Simon and I'm the proud owner of a new Pace 427SC Cobra down here in Melbourne Australia. I used to live in Commerce Township MI.

Currently the car is a rolling and steering aluminium chassis (with Carbon/fibreglass body) running 15" Trigo pin drive wheels and Brembo brakes. I've just purchased a brand new 585hp ZL1 LSA and will be mating it to an MG9 TR-6060.

Should be a lot of fun with that much power in such a lightweight car!

Cheers

Sounds like you're going to have yourself a great combination. What could be better? Little light weight car and tons of GM Power!

Cobra Make, Engine: Classic 427, I purchased it May 2005, the kit was bought in 1991. I'm not sure when it was completed! Installed GMPP Connect & Cruise 376/525 with T-56 S/M 3.55 gears about 2 years ago! 1/4 miles is with old setup!

So how's the project coming along Simon? I just bought a GMPP LS 3 376/525 Connect & Cruise package with the T-56 Magnum transmission for my old Classic Roadsters II! I'll be adding a 125 NOS fogger to it! Should be fun, light car 6sp and 4.11's!

Hi Al,

My apologies for the delay in responding. I only just saw your post!

My car is running and driving now. It's had all the engineering testing completed as well as passed it's IM240 emissions test that we are required to take in my state. I've broken the car down for bodywork and paint. Currently, the blocked down and I've just about finished the filler work. The body is very good so it doesn't need much (compared to other Cobras I have worked on). Will let here sit in primer for a week until I block her down again and get ready for topcoat. I'm hoping to have the car on the road in mid-October.

Cheers,
Simon

What happens when Ford announces in NOV 2015 that they will be releasing an automatic 6 speed paddle shift for the Coyote motor and should be released in the Summer of 2016 and then tells me now it is Aug/Sept and NOW tells Jay from Vintage Motorsports that all we can say is now sometime in the Fall. You say screw them and order a 525h.p. Pace Performance LS3 with 6 speed auto trans package. Same motor trans in my 09 vette but more bang for the buck and a proven system. My Cobra has been sitting around forever waiting on Ford, i couldnt take it anymore so the motor has been ordered and now i will have my car before winter. Thanks for posting that, i tried but i have crap dsl so it would fail each time. I soo wish i could drive the car BUT i still dont have it. Jay put some miles on it this Monday and it needs some adjustments and it has rained Tues and Wed. I am hoping Jay will be able to take it out today or tomorrow. I live in CT so i could get royally screwed if the weather were to turn soon. The only pics are the ones of the build. God i hope i get it soon. Build link. Hi Simon, I'm still plugging along slowly here! It's going to be snowing tomorrow, full on winter I guess! So I'm going to take a step back and take my time, be ready by spring for sure! How's yours coming along?
