Default LS6 Crate info/prices?

Does Chevy have a performance catalog like Ford that I can get? Or is there a good online source for info and prices? I'm just looking at my "other" options. 5or6speed trans cost info would be good too. Thanks.

Chevy does have a performance parts catalog, and if you go to the parts counter at most big dealer's, they will have them for sale

The LS6 is a collector engine, but the new 502 would be a nice place to start. Use the site above, for on online catalog.

Here are a couple of the more popular Chevy parts suppliers. They carry the full range of GM performance parts plus some special combinations they assemble and sell.

the LS6 is the corvette motor right? I checked the links but could only find the LS1. Thanks for your help with the links though.

The LS6 was the 454 that was in the 70 Chevelles with 450HP, they made these crate motors until they came out with the 502 crate motor with 502HP. The LS1 is in the Corvette. Not so much talk about Chevy motors in Ford country.

Just visited an everett-morrison replica in Florida with an LS6 570 HP mill, corvette rear end. What do you think of $56k for a price?

They're also using 'LS6' for the new corvette motor, or at least the intake on top of it. The intake runners are larger, LS6 vs LS1. Don't know all the other differences. I think that's it basically, so you would buy an LS1 crate motor and the LS6 intake, swap intakes and basically be there. Probably some cam and/or electronics differences as well. As mentioned above, this isn't really a GM site. As for the 5 or 6 speeds; shouldn't have too much difficulty finding one to bolt up behind a SBC, just make sure your kit allows for the added length of a OD trans. Too bad manufacturers reuse badges like this, just muddies the waters. I hear they're bringing back Galaxie 500's next (doubt a 7 liter will be an option though).

I was curious, so I found this site real quick...

I meet this guy at a local cruise in who has some LS-1 motors out of late model Camero/Firebirds. Complete aluminum motor with tranny(some 6 speed and some Autos). He quoted me between $4800 and $5500. Merv Cray e-mail fuelinjectionman@home.com
850-897-2729 Niceville, FL

He had about 6 motors with the tranny's still bolted up on a trailer. Thy looed almost brand new to me but they did lack the blue oval
