Default Side pipes

Hello everyone. Having a problem with side pipes brackets,they are welded to the side pipes and bolted to the frame with rubber bushings every couple weeks i have to reweld now one side pipe has a hole from metal fatique can i elliminate the brackets or i am looking for more trouble . Car is a 91 cr with 302. Thanks

CA..
Cut the brackets off! Re-ALIGN properly to the (mounting) holes in the frame. Actually better to bolt the cut off brackets first to the frame then weld back onto the sidepipes!

REMOVAL of the support will only cause your Headers to crack!

Weld on a large patch panel to the muffler. Then weld the support to the patch panel.

Do what you need to on the sidepipes, BUT still bolt the bracket FIRST to the fame THEN weld it to the sidepipes. (FFR is totally different animal than a CR's.)

This is what I came up with (see attached image). I was concerned about metal fatigue when I changed my mount. There is a lot of movement and vibration coming from the engine that needs to be addressed. I am however still in the process of building my CRII so I haven’t proven out this design change.
