Default New CR owner looking for DV

I recently acquired a CR and from browsing the forums it seems like you (DV) are the resident guru. I saw that you used to build some of the factory assemblies from CR, where would the plate be if you built it? Mine is titled as a 96 but I think it was built round 93 (paper work from engine dated 93 in Michigan). Also mine is a 350 Chevy mated to a T5 and I am considering changing to a short shifter. I had a PRO 5.0 in my 99 Camaro and I liked it a lot, my question is what year/model vehicle do I look for to replace the shifter? Not sure if there is any difference in the Mustang T5 shifters and the GM versions other than the stick?
