Default Looking for Roll Bar build sheet

I know I saw (I think it was DV who posted it) the dimensions (bend angles/measurements) to build a single person roll bar.

Could someone post it here or email it to me?

most are 1.5" tube, 6" radius bend. Can't help you with exact height.

Question--some bard are about the height of the windshield and some are several inches higher. I heard the reason was racing requirements for the taller one...any comment

Not that any of them would pass muster for a modern roll bar, but the rule is straight line from the top of the bar to the fwd chassis hard point clear the driver helmet by 2". This tends to look a little goofy on a cobra, but needed if you want actual roll over protection. I have a replaceable street bar that does not meet that requirement but my race cage does.

If someone has driver and passenger Classic Roadster roll bars they have not yet been mounted on their car, would someone be willing to make a pattern and trace a front view and side profile on cardboard for me?thanks

I got this from somebody and it's supposed to be for the Classic Roadster...

Perhaps if there is enough interest, we could contact a rollbar manufuture to build a couple for us (a "Group Buy").



P.S. I have a pdf of this where it's a little larger.

I had my roll bar made from that sketch by a company in Hilliard, OH. It turned out really well.

The original CRs were made with 1.75 tubing. That's what mine is.

It cost $217 including Ohio sales tax. That doesn't include any plating or finishing on the roll bar (just the raw materials, the labor to bend and weld it ). I used 2"x0.120" DOM tubing for mine.

FYI... I contacted Tubular Techniques to get pricing and was told that pricing would drop on multiples. Still waiting for teh quote on a single and multiples.

studebaker53, if you notice in the plans it appears that the "fish mouth" was not welded on. This would allow you to switch sides and weld it on where you wanted it.

So let's see about doing a "group buy" on this to drive the price down...

just got a reply from Tubular Techniques - $367.00 shipped to my address in Sacramento, CA - This was through an email to their site - Steve responded with the quote - This was before I saw a possible 'discount' price if we had a few more orders....I'll be 'pulling the trigger' on my order, but will hold off if we can get some momentum/commitment on more units

I get a quote from Tubular Techniques also, $368.16 shipped, additional ones $265 (Not sure if that included shipping).
So there appears to be a ~$100 tooling setup fee.
The more people we can commit, we could split that tooling fee driving the price down.
