Default Cobra update

Update on my CR Cobra, I installed new 427 Stroker built by ZSR engines, Dart block with Scat/Wiseco rotating assembly, Trick Flow 11R 205 Heads, Ed Curtis custom roller cam. For folks wanting the Stack Injection system don't be afraid of the EFI Version. I Installed Fast EZ 2.0 system with a Speedmaster stack system and was a stickler to use all Fast components to ensure no issues with start up or proper function. I went with the Fast dual sync distributor so the ECM would control the timing. Went with the Fast fuel system for the in tank return style fuel system. Starts up and runs excellent and the result is more horsepower than this little car needs. WOT is a blast. As a note on the EFI systems you MUST have at least 10" of idle vacuum for the processor to function properly. I had my cam ground for maximum vacuum and due to the nature of the open plenum intake I ended up with 14" vacuum. Another tip is to buy an intake manifold with the vacuum chamber built into the intake, on my intake its a chamber cast into the bottom of the intake with ports drilled from each intake port leading to the chamber. This allows a common (balanced vac signal) area for the ECM to sense engine load.
I also used a remote Idle Air Control and mounted it on the firewall to keep from cluttering up the intake area. I was and am a newbie to fuel injection but by doing loads of research before the purchase of any components and developing a plan for required horsepower, idle and driving characteristics I think it worked out really well. No issues on start up and after entering in your basic set up the Fast takes over the tuning, also has an advanced feature for changes you feel the tune needs. I also made up new side pipes while at it installing 3 1/2" collectors with slip joints onto 4" dia Jones exhaust mufflers with 3 1/2" turnouts. I had the whole side pipes coated with ceramikoat high temp black. This stuff holds up really well and is available in just about any color you want. Many Thanks to the good folks on this website I have gleaned numerous tips, tricks and info that help me to maintain my Cobra and to make it what I envision it to be.
