Bulldog with a wheel balance question , having trouble getting a good balance on front wheels witch are the halibrand replicas has any on had trouble with these wheels they seem to be true on balance machine?

Do you supervise the balancing and have seen zeros on there?

For giggles, when you get the zeros, loosen the wheel, turn it about 90 deg or so, retighten, then spin it up again, should still read zero.

A good balancer should still say zero, if the wheel was balanced.

Then argue that out with the tyre guy.

I have not used those wheels but have had a set of tires I could not get to balance. They could be balanced perfectly as Gaz64 explained but still be out of round. I think it is called runout and should be noted on the balance machine. Also try a different shop with a different machine. Right now I have a set of front tires with a lot of weights to balance them out. They ride good.

We have one shop in two counties that can shave a tire to make it round. I've had two pair of front tires shaved and still get the same mileage as the rears.

Rides a lot better after shaving to get them "round" and they take less weights to balance.
