Talking Headlight bucket and Trim rings

I finally found a source for the CR headlight bucket and trim ring. They are unique to CR and sources such as Finish Line don't carry them. If anyone needs them please let me know and I'll order more. The cost is $60 each.
Don
PS, These are the plastic buckets that CR used for awhile. The metal ones are available only to OEM's so I couldn't get them.

Don,

Don't tell me we now have a "headlight" issue! What is this all about?

Hey, I used Finish Line head lights on my CRL Cobra ... had to cut the opening differently and epoxy in some t-nuts to hold them in place, but they look fine.

It's not really an issue, CR is backordered on the trim rings and I need some now. The cost is an issue at $98 each from CR.
I did buy the ones from Finishline but they don't match the contour of the CR. They are about a 1/4 inch short of the outside lip of the car. Paula at Finishline said she had several people looking for these so I thought I would pass along the savings to everyone.

Oh no, now I'm going to have to think about getting new head lights; I even searched through my web site to find a picture hoping I woundn't be stressed out all day because I'm a good 30 miles from my Cobra and I cant see the head lights in person, and the picture shows the gap you mentioned; I wonder if I can leave work early. (Massive run-on sentence)

Pete, I can't tell if you're joking or not .

The gap you have is what I mentioned but now that I see it on a painted car I don't think I would change it. It's not noticable at all. I'm just anal.

Don,

Actually I wasn't kidding. After reading your post I got to thinking about my lights and if the gap was going to look bad. First thing I did when I got home tonight was to look at the lights!

There is a gap, but I don't think it'll kill me

My car isn't painted yet (still in the gray gelcoat). The gap is "just" noticable. The picture above shows it pretty well. I'll know for sure after the car is painted; but I'm betting it's going to be ok.

Anal, no I don't think so ... striving for excellence, perhaps

Thumbs up Where to buy the CRL Headlights.

Hey there! Tom Beroth can help you get the right lights for the CRL Cobra...I bought a pair from him and they fit prefect!! Here is his Web site cobradoc@juno.com he has some other suff for the Cobra...he is the Cobra Doctor!!
Snake.
P.S. The price was well below CRL price! Trust me I live in Canada and any amount of money I can save is more parts to finish my build. Should be finished this summer...YeeeHaaaaa!!

Ops...that was his e-mail address here is the Web site www.bethania-garage.com/cobra.htm

The lights are called K-D's I think...just e-mail him and tell him you want the Headlights that will fit the CRL Cobra.
Latter Guy's.
Snake.

Don, Do you still have a source for the CRII Bucket and Bezel? Someone backed in to me a crushed the bezel and broke the adjusters in the bucket. Any help is much appreciated. Ken

I don't think you will get a response from Don? Go to Tommy Beroths site or search K&D on the internet.

We went through this a while back. I believe we found them here SLC Lighting

I had save it as a favorite so I would not forget. Not sure about the trim rings though.

I did not have to purchase any. I already had mine.

Check post #33 on this thread, CR Headlights might help.

I checked and doing a search on the SLC web site comes up with "nothing found". You might want to call them and see if they can cross referance the part numbers.

Also, here is a link to the Advanced Tech Corp / KD Lamp web site ATC

Hope all of this helps. FYI, my chrome ring/bezel measured 8 5/8 dia on the outside.

I ordered a chrome headlight ring from Finishline for my Contemporary Cobra and it did not blend in well with the fender contour. I am looking for the ring that has a larger radius not the "squared" off type. Any help?

Terry - I think that's it. I called SLC and spoke to them. He was going to get me the exact dimensions to make sure. According to post #33 it looks like SLC (ATC same co) is it too. Thx for the direction.

legenmetals, I confirmed the Finishline unit is smaller and the trim ring is not the same.

As soon as SLC confirms the dimensions I'll let you know.

KB, hope you get what you need. When you get the new part numbers, could you please post them for future referance.

Thanks
