Default Classic Roadsters

As most of you already know I am looking to purchase a used Cobra. I have an opportunity to buy Classic Roadsters of Fargo North Dakota. The car was built in 1998 and has 1500 miles.

Anyway does anyone have any good or bad stories about Classic Roadsters? I appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks,

"KillerBox@aol.com"

Killer, I think you will find with any used car purchase the quality is in the build. Of course since I own Classic Roadsters I think it is one of the top replicas on the market. But, it can be built however the builder wanted and on his budget. There are many things that can be compromised when building any car. I would suggest that you take the time to look at the car personally or pay someone from the area to look at it. I know of several people in Fargo that would give you an honest appraisal of the car. I'm sure it wouldn't cost much to have this done and it would be money well spent.

Killer...just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.... I've been building a Classic and I have to say that every time I have come to a hurdle, whether it be a specific part number or a suggestion regarding a part to use, I have been able to call Don (the owner) and talk to him PERSONALLY, and get an answer within minutes.... that kind of service is rare, and IMMENSELY helpful. My hat's off to Mr Scott... I think you would enjoy building one of Classics' kits almost as much as you will enjoy driving it! Good luck... Bowtie

In my opinion you can't go wrong with a CR unless, like Don said, the builder cut corners. The CR is a solid car and with the 94" wheel base it will be comfortable to drive. Solid body and frame.
If there is something the builder did that you don't like you can always change it. After all, it's a kit car! Corrections can be costly and should be reflected in the price.
Have an uninterested but knowledgeable third party check the car out.
Good luck

Classic makes a fine kit. In the past help was hard to get and parts were not much better. Don has changed that. The fit and finish is top rate. The frame is well made and replacement parts are easy to come by.
The final result of a kit car is dependent on the skill of the builder and the quality of the parts used to complete the car. If you are going to buy a used kit have it checked by an independent shop for safety and possible hidden problems.
The last thing you want to do is buy into someone else's problems.
