Default Spats

Does anyone have any of those black plastic spats for the lower forward section of the rear wheel openings? I'm getting a lot of stone chips in that area and really need to put some spats on to protect the car. I know that CR used to include the spats in their kits, but I don't know if I never got 'em or if I lost them over the years.

funfer2, the spats we have are made for the Classic Roadsters and I'm not sure they will work on anything else. They are formed ABS plastic.

Ordered mine yesterday
When I asked for "Spats", whoever was on the other end of the phone did not know that word. It was funny. Thanks Pete for starting this thread, I did not know they had them.

John, that was Pete Johnson, he was laughing when he got off the phone. He thought a spat was something different. I know they used to call a certain type of shoe a spat. Good humor!

I just ordered a pair of black leatherette spats from Bill at Snakepit Automotive in Freeport NY. Bill can provide you with a kit of sorts. You will get two spats made of black leatherette car bra material with a soft backing. He also will supply, lift-a-dot fasteners to attache to your tonneau post and velcro for the wheel wells and a snap for the bottom (under the body).

Bob in CT has these. Bob was kind enough to let me try them on my ERA to see if they would fit and they did. I ordered a pair from Snakepit on Monday and they arrived today (Friday) complete with instructions and all snaps and such.

These are perfect to have as you can easily remove them and then put them on especially in this time of year when the roads have sand and tiny stones from the snow season.

Careful Al, I started the thread with "Spats" and I'm only 47!

I was going to mount the spats earlier this week but didn't have any RTV. On the list for this weekend.

Al, Pete Johnson is getting pretty old so he probably has a pair in his closet. I just remember them from the movies, of course they were black and white movies, come to think of it I don't remember any sound, Hmmmmm?
