Default Painting the engine bay... Need ideas and pics

Someone else here used Chrome spary paint that looked good...
I tried a couple different brands and all never seems to dry and would always smear (even after letting it sit for weeks...
Took the firewall to someone who said that for a $100 he would get some professional paint (chrome) and redo it... Well he used chrome spray paint and just plain ripped me off.
Well am gonna stripped off what is on the firewall and start over.

What do you guys recommend? I liked the look of the reflective look of the chrome paint to help the engine stand out, but I can't seem to find anything that holds.

What have you guys done???

BTW what would you recommend as good way to strip the paint on the firewall.

Once I get the firewall done I will move on to wiring and getting that engine fired.

Art, you are the buy that gave me the idea...
Let me ask you, if you run your finger over the paint, does it come off???
Did you seal (clear coat) it with anything? I tried, but it turned the chrome paint flat grey ...
When I called the paint company... They said it was the nature of the paint...

I never used paint. I used the Thermotec heat insulation and it isn't as bright as chrome, more like aluminum, but it also gives a lot of protection from heat. Good up to 1,800 degrees I think it was. Wipe with a damp cloth and get the dust off and after 8 years it still doesn't look to bad. Others here used stainless steel to cover the firewall and in some cases the whole engine bay. Looks great, will scratch, and is expensive.

Snake,

I don't have any pictures in here but I will take the camera out after while and try to get a couple for you to see. Love those digital cameras. Since I can only post a 39K picture in the post, can you e-mail me your e-mail address and I can attach a couple of larger pictures which will let you see how it looks better. I have it all the way back through my transmission tunnel.
