Question Engine Mounting Questions - Don or DV in the house??

- Looking for the correct bolt size... Trying to mount a '87 Ford 302 to the CRII frame. I do not have the donor bolts that would attach the Napa isolator, part number 602-1639, to the engine. I had been told that a 1/2 inch bolt would work but that aint gonna work!! There are two bolts per side.... 4 total.

- Looking for verification on the correct nut size (Hmmm... that probably didn't sound so good !! )... Anyway... trying to attach the Napa part # 602-1639 to the newer, lower CRII supplied engine weldment. I think a 9/16 nut will attach the isolator to engine weldment. I just want to make sure this is correct. I cannot finger tighten the nut very far.... However, when I use a wrench to tighten the nut, the threads on the isolator and the nut seem to be undamaged. I am 95% sure this is the right size but want to make sure.

- I've seen in earlier posts that the CRII supplied engine weldments are mis-labeled... the left is marked with an "R" and the right is marked with an "L". Got any idea when this was fixed?? Is there an easy way to tell if mine are mislabeled too?? The installation manual still has pictures of the older weldments. One end of the weldment has a shorter angle/side and the other end has a longer angle/side. I hope that makes sense.

- And while I'm at it, I have 1/2 inch bolts, lock washers and nuts to attach the engine weldments to the frame. Will these work?? And do they have to be grade 8??

- OKAY... One more. I went to Auto Zone today to look for an engine ground strap. Of course they didn't have any. They never have what I am looking for. The sales guy said a battery cable would work. Since I am neither a mechanic or an electrician, I wanted to check this out. I've got a 4 gauge cable that is 19 inches in length. I'm sure I don't need the 19 inches, but will the 4 gauge copper battery cable work??

THANKS!!!!!!

Shorty, the 9/16 nut is correct for the mount. The 1/2" bolts for the frame mounts do not need to be grade 8, the grade 5 you have will work. There was one batch of mis-marked weldments a few years ago, yours should be fine. The battery cable will work fine for the ground. Happy holidays !!
