Don, I've heard of the product but never tried it because we need antifreeze in this area. Antifreeze does 2 things that I know, it lowers the freeze temp and it raises the boiling point of water. Anytime I have a cooling system problem such as overheating I fix the problem. I can't do that with a product such as water wetter. There are generally 2 problems with any cooling system, capacity and air movement. If your engine is running above what is concidered normal when the car is moving the problem is almost always capacity. If it does that when stationary it is generally air movement. If you have a radiator and fan that are properly sized then there should be no need use such a product.

Don and Don,
Water-Wetter, under actual Cobra tests with BB's had minimal effect. Some, but minimal.

One more and very important thing that antifreeze does..is lubricate the water pump. There is actually a reason antifreeze is so darn slimey!

Another thing that antifreeze does is provide corrosion protection for iron, aluminum, and brass parts of your cooling system.

Just run your car for a week on straight water, then drain it into a pan. Not very pretty, is it? That's rust from the inside of your block and heads.

Run a 50/50 mix year around. Flush and change it every 3 years. Like Don & DV said, if it overheats, fix the problem.
