Default Fresh air for the cockpit (top up)

I searched this topic (fresh air vents) and found the most current comments 2 to 3 years old. I was wondering if anyone had any recent thoughts / experiences with running fresh air from the brake vents to the custom dash on the CR. I will be following the advise of others to first: creamic coat headers and side pipes, and second to properly insulate the foot boxes.
My concern is not so much heat in the footbox, but for the desire to have some fresh air when the top & side curtains are in place. Especially when not moving and during rain or humid conditions. Does anyone see any errors in my logic? Looking for critical & constructive comments.
Has anyone actually installed this through the custom dash vents? Has anyone used the parts sold by Earls Creature Comforts (http://home.mindspring.com/~egroce/)? Anyone found any other sources of components? Already thought of vintage air, but they only seem to carry the vents and hose. Also looking for powered blowers, and shut offs.

Check out a Superformance. Mine has the fresh air ducting on both sides - driver and passenger.

If you have a Vintage Air heater/defroster installed you could tee off of one or both demister vents and connect them to the dash vent, which can be closed by rotating them. I bought all of the stuff I needed from Home Depot, but I've been to lazy to hook it up. I thought it might help on the days when it's a little cold even without a top.

Thanks Art! I think that you have responded to all of my inqueries. I appreciate that.
I was wondering if the dash ball louver vents actually did shut off the air flow completely. Where did you acquire yours? I assume that that part didn't come from Home Depot. Which make or brand are yours?
I've been looking for parts and found most of everything I believe I would need. Just shopping around for prices, now. I have only come across 2 sources for the ball louvers: Vintage Air (many to choose from) and Finish line. The blowers are readily available from the marine supply houses i.e. Sierra Marine, Boater's World, and West Marine. Also many to choose from. If I do direct fresh air from the brake duct openings I'll need the funnel shaped duct to transition from the oval opening to 3" round. So far I've found those at Finish line and at Tri States. A positive shut off / flow control would be satisfied by using a woodworking dust collector blast gate. Operated with a push/pull manual choke style cable. I'd probably use 2 from Control Cables, to match the knob style and appearance of the one supplied by Classic Roadsters II for the hood release. Other than switches / wiring that leave only the air hose. Lots to choose from in 3". But, I'm wondering about using something resistant to acquiring heat from the engine compartment. Especially when I think fresh air might be most desireable: Top up, side curtains on, in the rain, & stopped in traffic. Thermo Flex make some nice looking hose but costly. Any body have any other thoughts or sources?

I'm pretty sure the ball vent closures came with the dash from CR I bought the hose and tees from Home Depot.
