Default New Guy! Start off questions..

Hello everyone.

New guy here.... relocating from arkansas to California.. good old sunshine

well. with all the midst of relocating, this is the time for me to get my

own cobra..... no more mud and 4 wheelin... i will still keep my

1982 bj42 and 1982 fj40 : )

Now for the Question.

Ok so im researching on which kit to get.. at this time my friend got a gt500 2009 thats
wreck which i can use for my kit... i think it has a tremec t6 tranny in it with a 5.4l supercharge at 500hps.

will there be a problem getting all that into one of the kit..and if so which kit.. i have search hi and low but
have not run across anyone that have done so.

I have seen the 4.6l svt 2003 mustang into a shelby but not
at gt500.

anyone here with expert advise on this issue? greatly appreciated.

Cool Mod motors in cobras

Welcome phithebuilder,

You'll find that it will be some work to get it to all fit in a cobra, but it is possible.

I know of atleast 1 spf that has a 5.4 supercharged engine in Aus.
I saw it when it was being fitted out.
Coincidently it is now for sale in Aus, but that's no good to you.

I believe similar packages have been fit into FFR & Backdraft cobras.
While their are differences b/w the aforementioned kits, they will all give you heaps of thrills, its just a matter of which you wish to choose.

...and their will be limitless discussion about which is better and why.

Best wishes,

Welcome! As you probably know, that is a very wide engine. Most replicas will require the foot boxes at a minimum to be clearanced and custom headers to be fabricated. Your best bet is to call around and talk to various manufacturers. I know that FFR recently introduced their Mk 4 which has modified footboxes, but you will have to do much of the additional required modifications yourself. Backdraft, has an excellent team in the US that will do it for you prior to delivering your car, but there will be a cost. I guess it boils down to how much you can do yourself or how much you want to spend!

Thanks everyone, i hope i will get to start this soon after Im done dealing with ALL the BS in the country of California. It caught me!! I really dont know how people in the social republic of california deal with all this bs..

If you are living outside of California don't ever move here. its the State that will say "NO" to all your dreams.

the line at dmv is 1 hour, that is to get a number to be serve. so you got to get in line so that you can get a place in line...after all that registration, i got a notice in the mail to "remove" my fine cars from california soil in 30 days. if this is the case, how can people even have road legal cobra here with all that smog bs and epa sticker they want?

In addition, the stupid arch. at the city planning wont let you build a garage to store your toys despite the fact you still have 8000 sft of open land.

my rifles collection are consider "assault weapons". that too cannot be in california. What happen to the Constitution and the second amendment. To be FREE. Free and Happiness. and the right to own nice cars and things.

sorry i ran off there.

have a good weekend everybody

god bless the USA except california.

Generally, if you are bone picking and have a whole carcuss ( like that ), you toss what is left AFTER you are done picking.

If you treat that like a rule, you should be fine. Takes more room, but covers an entire car.
