Default I'm a new Cobra owner!

Hi guys-
I'm a new Cobra owner as of yesterday! I just bought a car from the son of the original builder. Unfortunately his father who had the car built back in 2007 passed away and left him with the car. His son didn't know much about the car so I'm here looking for some help. How can I identify what brand kit it is? I'm sure some photos would help all of you, so please let me know exactly what areas you need to see. I didn't see any badges or plates on the body, but I did see a tag mounted under the dash on the right side. I don't have the numbers with me, but I remember it started with "HM". I hope this helps, and thanks in advance for any help you can give!

I would take a look at their site, the cars features and the pictures should tell you.
427 Roadster Models - Hurricane Motorsports
There are plenty of identification experts here so get some pics when you can. Welcome aboard.

Just a word of caution. Be very careful. These cars are called snakes for a reason.
They will bite you the first chance they get.

So true! Unless you are very comfortable working on automobiles, I suggest you also have a qualified mechanic go over the entire car as a safety check. Not all Cobra replicas were assembled by people who knew what they were doing. ... Now is also a good time to think about attending a high performance driving school and a SCCA autocross to hone your driving skills.

Good luck with the new toy.

Welcome to the forum. Get us some pictures of the engine compartment, interior and roll bar. The folks here will get you hooked up.
As said before take it slow until you have the feel of the car. What engine and rear suspension do you have?
Contact you local Cobra guys and they probably will be able to help as well.

#1X3, sounds like a Hurricane Motorsports. The tag under the dash on the right side will be HM XXXX (my guess 1XXX) and there should also be a tag on the frame in the driver side rear wheel well. If you can give more info on the previous owner, the Hurricane owners can perhaps help with more history on the car based on the info available on the HM owners forum. Also, just the serial number may help as well.

Thanks for all info guys.
It appears that it is a Hurricane Motorsports car. Can anyone here tell me the good and bad of this brand? Are there any particular issues or items to address with them?

C'mon and help yourself-go to the H'cane mfgs. forum here and search. Then you can ask educated questions of the owners here.

#1X3, also go to the Hurricane Motorsports web site and the chances are you may find some build pics for the car. I think you'll find you have one of the better cars currently on the market. I am a little bit biased however.
