Default New Guy In MD

Hi Everyone,

I have been an avid Cobra fan for more years than I care to admit. I think the time has finally come for me to be an owner/builder. I can turn a wrench, and have had many cars. My latest is a 1964 Impala SS Convertible with a 409 4 speed. Fun car for sure, but I want something more performance oriented. I thought about going the C3 Corvette Convertible route, but have done that twice and are not too impressed with their overall performance big or small block.

I am 6'5" with 15EEEE size feet - I think this will greatly limit the brands I can shop. While I would like a big block, a stout small block would be fine (may give more foot well room?). I really had no idea there were so many choices, I started after seeing FFR in a recent test against some high end toys, but then I am now overwhelmed just trying to figure out which kit is best for my size and which one is LEAST likely to turn into a forever or worse project.

Any tips or advice is GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Hello Bigfoot!
Welcome
Maybe you could wear one (Cobra) on each foot?

Bigfoot,

Welcome!

Couple suggestions:

1) Sign up for the Capital Area Cobra Club if you haven't already at: Capital Area Cobra Club - Index
You can possibly "try on" some of their cars at the Saturday "grease-up" at the Vienna Inn. Only potential downside is the amount of good-natured(?) abuse they dish out. There's at least one owner there in your size range.

2) Consider an automatic. This will reduce the number of pedals in a very narrow area and reduce the chances for stepping on more than one at a time

Enjoy the hunt, and good luck,

Tom

Exclamation

Head over to the UniqueCobra site and check out Naumoff, Jim Harding, and Steve Foushee, all of who are in your area. They are great guys, and will surely give you great info on the Unique Marque.

By the way, they built a car for Bob Evans, who is over 7 feet tall. You can search on his name and find a couple of threads on it... here is one:

I'm to Big any advice

See posts #33 and #35 for photos...

Good luck!
