				Hello All

New to this Forum. I've been involved in motorsports for almost 50 years. Always been a Cobra fan, and almost bought a 1964 in 1969 for $3200, yellow, 289, just a stocker. I passed, what a dummy. Been involved with Indy, Can-Am, Motocross, and Drag Racing, which is what I'm doing now. I guess I've been a gear head since I was about 2 1/2 years old. Can't get enough.

 Welcome to the madness.

Some questions you might want to ask yourself in regards to a Cobra (real or replica).

1: What is your budget?
2: Do you want a 427 or 289 bodystyle?
3: Big block or small block powered?
4: How close do you want it to an original (looks, color combinations, etc)?
5: What is your intended use (road racer, drag racer, Sunday driver, ice cream social cruiser, daily driver?

With the answers firmly in place, you can then start your search. Number 1 is the most important, as while all Cobras may look the same on the outside, they are not all of the same quality (manufacturer), nor are they all built the same. Some have straight axle rear ends, some have IRS like the originals. Some are built on extended 92-98" wheelbase (makes the body looked stretched), most are built around the original 90" wheelbase. Then you get to look at bolt on wheels vs knock off wheels, etc. There is a basic tutorial on "how to buy a used Cobra" in my signature line. That along with the questions you must answer for yourself above will be a good start in your search for "your" ultimate Cobra.

Again, welcome to the madness, once you are bitten, there is no cure
Bill S.
