Default Bought auction WCC

Greetings - not sure where my first post went, it had to be approved by mods and then I was able to post but this intro one was lost.

I help a buddy with a car collection and he just got a 07 West Coast Cobra at an auction with what appears to be 460 / manual trans combo. I'm not a Ford expert but I think its the stroked "small block" crate engine about 560hp. I do know it sounds killer and seems to have a lot of power - just getting it it from transporter to the garage a few hundred yards was impressive. We are getting plates and fixing a differential/axle issue that was likely the result of some rough handling at the auction test drives or something.

While some here I noticed have not been kind to the WCC it is a nice build and the frame is beefy. I am eager to learn about cobras and WCC. I do realize they are based in Canada and all that.

Well, thats about it for intros. See if this posting goes.

ps. How many posts do you need to send a PM? I thought I did send two and then I realized they were not in my box and maybe didn't send at all.

Hello from a fellow WCC owner (06'). You should get us a photo of the Cobra. Who did you buy it from? WCC is a company of a few which has owned "Kellison" molds and plans. The car integrity depends on who put it together. You should join and read up on posts in the Wesc Coast Owners Group Community. There is all the information you never wanted to know just ready for you to click. We can give you a list of items you should consider replacing or upgrading. BTW, do you have a soft top?

Thanks. No top, I have asked WCC about that as the owner would like to have one. Lots of rain comes through Houston. Heavy rain!

I may have missed it but did not see WCC as a group unlike some of the other makes such as F Five. But I'm new may have missed it.

I have no idea on history of owner, but we do know it was one-owner and I think he built it or had it built. I have done mechanic work on the rest of this guy's car collection and while we just got it, so far no glaring issues. Have to put it up on the lift and fix the axle, then we can start seeing where we are. The engine sure is beefy sounding. I did notice the distributor didn't have a vac advance hooked up. Blinker lever touches the dash pad, but it works OK. The footwell is pretty darn tight for a clutch. that's it so far.

We are also looking for sidepipe cover as he really doesn't want to burn the tar out of his leg or his wife's, but WCC doesn't show them, just a lot of everything else and some 15mph tatas!

Hello

Not sure what is up with private messages here, I went to my messages and they were all zero. ? I checked my settings. Anyway, looking for info if you are willing to share.

Found broken spider gears - in about 8 parts! inside the rear, and it was a "open" rear end, which in a cobra is a real head scratcher. I guess the builder got the rear and never had gotten around to changing it, then it broke and he decided to sell it at auction. Anyway, ordered Ford Racing limited slip and all parts for it now.

Had some tire/wheel questions, etc. WCC input desired.

Hi Dirkdaddy -

I'm in the final throws of getting my 2012 WCC (kit) plated etc, etc. Have been around this car inside and out and can perhaps help with your questions!!

The 460 with Manual trans was not all that common - more automatics - partially due to the original Kellison Stallion that was an auto. Your 460 is most likely a Big Block AKA 429!

I built mine with a 427W and a 6 speed Tremec T56!

Let me know if I can be of help. There's a bunch of WCC owners on Club Cobra!

Regards,
Gary
