Default Can't wait to own a COBRA

I'm a wanna-be Cobra guy. Before I buy, I need to try sitting in a Classic Roadster II. That means getting in. I'm 72 years old and my legs don't seem to fold as easily as when I was 21. Besides, I'm 6'2" and 230#. Yes, I know I should be a member of Weight Watchers, but my wife of nearly 51 years is an excellent cook, but didn't learn anything about calories. Back to getting in!! Does anyone live in the Orlando, FL area that owns a CR II that will let me get in and out a few times to make sure its easier than accessing a FFR, Superformance, Emerson or a Backdraft? The Backdraft seems the easiest, so far, for me to get in. Waiting for an invite from a nice CR II owner! !
I frequently go to the "OLD TOWN" Saturday night classic car show & shine in Kissimmee. We could meet there.

Shell Valley offers a "Big Boy" option for tall people.
they put the roadster body on their coupe frame and it lowers the seat 3 to 4 inches
and makes for plenty of room for long legs or you can get the roadster with a drop
foot box option.

I'm 68 years young and love my CRII. The 6" extra front door opening is wonderful for the legs getting in and out, compared to of Cobra's. If you ever get to Bonita Springs, FL. your welcome to check my Cobra out

Bill,

You should post a few pictures in the post so you can show just what you have done to make it easier for large people to get in and out.

Doors are the hardiest part of the car to get right. We have been perfecting it for almost 30 years. Our door for its size has moor open area then any outer cobra un less they have coped our hinge. You cant get moor room to get in unless you take the door off, the hinge has fore bearings in it, it will not sage over time. you can sit on it . the door has 17" of 3/16" armor plat in it for side impact. the back of the door is held by a latch that in incased in AR plat and attached to a frame member that runs to the other side of the car. Wile the CR car was the grad daddy of our car there is not much that we have kept from it Avery thing has ben re engineered and up dated. Yes you can fit some of the part for our car to a CR but it will require a bit of work. Bill E
