Default My dream car

I have to say that the Cobra has been a dream since I was a kid too. My dad had always talked about owning a 64/65 Mustang and I got hooked like everyone on the Shelby mustangs of the day. So 40 yrs old and I finally had put the extra cash together to finally get as close to the dream as possible.

So, a little about her??? well like I mentioned I got her last week of august... I couldn't sleep for 3 nights...(my wife said I was talking all week in my sleep about her and she was actually getting jealous)

Silver Metallic...And when the sun hits her back hips it's just magic.
Blue (not sure the actual colour code) racing stripes..
351w / 427 Stroker
Holley 4 Barrel
Edelbrock intake
MSD Ingnition
Coil Over Suspension
Knockoff Hildabrand Rims
Line lock... The explanation of what it is scares the wife to death...

Sadly ceramic grey coated pipes
Aluminum racing seats ... BOOOOOO
Black interior carpet and dash
Not sure the Transmission but she hums easily with still plenty of punch in 4th. (maybe fortunately I haven't found a long enough straight away to keep it jumping to ride into 5th)

I have found a really amazing shop just south of me close to Windsor Xcentric auto sports...Wow they do awesome work... Anyway as it goes I will have her in over the fall and winter to have a makeover...

On the dream list...
Darker grey / Silver paint
ghosted racing stripes
refinished dash and gauges...(I'm considering bringing the stripe down through the dash panel)
Original Style Cobra seats both Driver and passenger
4 - 1 Chrome exhaust
Re-Fit / Centre up both the front hood and trunk to even up the gaps

If I can get some pics up here soon ill show what I mean...

Hey there. I live in ridgetown and have a Cobra built around 1984 with a 429 Ford motor. Burgundy with white stripes. Has around 8000 miles on it. Just getting over hip surgery so drives are limited. Great driving weather now isn't it?

Default Getting Dressed for a Date

1967 AC Cobra | Xcentrick Autosports

Here are some of the first pics put up by the guys at Xcentrick that are working on my car over the fall/winter. The original silver colour you see on while on the car lift is going to be slightly darker. the Blue racing stripes will be either white or a light shade of grey, maybe ghosted in (not too sure yet) all of the lines and fitment of the hood trunk and doors will be nicely tightened up or at least centred out. (keeping in mind the originals were far from perfect at production) hope you like so far.

As many on CC have pointed out, chrome is not good for headers, perhaps even side pipes. You can get a chrome-like ceramic coating that will retain its colour, and that is highly recommended as it looks like chrome but won't blue or discolour.
