Default new to club, seeking advice from owners in PA

Trying to buy a cobra out of state but will title in pa.

I have read some horror stories on getting title for replica cobras.

Would love to chat with someone in Lancaster County area on advice on titling process (the special inpection needed for special const vehicles) and annual inspecions.

Concern that vehicle albeit titled in md as 65 roadster may have initial inspection shortfalls. No back up light, 1 exterior mirror and no defroster.

Thanks!

If the car is already titled in another state, PA will take that title at face value 90% of the time. If the title reads or mentions "kit car", or "replica", then you have a 10% chance that you will need an "enhanced inspection".

If you have to go through the enhanced inspection, you do not need back up lights, but you will need wipers, at least the defroster vents mounted on the dash, and side pipe heat shields, as well as a well sorted car (no drips, no leaks, all lights working, no loose wheel bearings, etc) in order to pass

CLICK HERE for a list of the enhanced inspection stations for your county.

Any other specific questions, just let us know.

Regards,

Bill S.

Do you know of anyone in PA who has recently gone through a pa title change that would be willing to talk or email with me?

pheagles,

Although MrMustang moved to SC recently, he was a PA resident prior to that. He has owned numerous Cobra replicas and helped others register their cars in PA and other states. He has the experience to help you.

I can't say I ever heard of a title service being able to tell the VIN from out of state as anything without seeing the actual title in hand.

PM me the following off the title:

Make:
Model:
year:
VIN:
Body:

Also let me know if the word(s) "replica", "kit", or "reproduction" are anywhere on the title itself.
