Default New Cobra Owner in DFW, TX

Hi there,

Just wanted to introduce myself as I just purchased a WCC this afternoon.

I have been checking this one out for several months and finally decided to pull the trigger. She's in fantastic condition with 8,543 miles on the chassis. Equipped with what was a 460 CID Bored & Stroked to 514 CID, 11:1 Compression, 2 Holley 9776 Carbs, MSD Ignition, 9 Qt rear sump w/ Mellings rear pick up pump, Richmond 5spd, Ford 9" rear end w/ 3.70 gears. Was built in 1991. I'm very new to Cobra's and just fell for this one as I've always wanted one. This Cobra shares the garage with a 2002 NSX. Looking forward to learning More about this car and meeting you all as well.

Take care!

Well, welcome aboard and enjoy. That sounds like one hell of an engine, be careful out there and take it easy as you get to now the car.

Welcome and as 1795 said, take it easy until you get to know the car as these beasts will kill you in an instant if you don't learn their characteristics and always be on guard.

Welcome!
The local D/FW Cobra Club meets the first Saturday each month. Look under the Texas Cobra Club sub-forum a few days before to see where and when.

Also, the annual TCC meet is in a few weeks down in San Marcos. That is a great event to attend.

Thank you for the warm welcome Fella's!
Much appreciated and will check my calendar.

As for things to do, I'd really like to get some new wheels for
it as the wheels that were on it are dated big time. Who in the
DFW Area could assist with wheel fitment / offsets, etc so I do
not order the wrong sizes?

Thank you!

Welcome, I am a lucky new cobra owner myself that also spent a lot of time researching and searching for the right car for me. My cobra came from Reno,NV and I bought it without seeing the car first. I did however spend a lot of time with the owner asking third degree questions and getting photos galore. I have a mechanical background that allowed me to recognize approximate worth. Now having the car here in TX, I got lucky with fact that the previous owner had a problem with the brakes and did not want to put out the $$$$ to fix them. I completely went thru the disc brake system and with a little hassle with the TX DMV to pass inspection, title and license, we are road worthy and enjoying the heck out of this machine.

Again as the other's have said, dance slowly with her, till you get comfortable. As the saying goes, If a Cobra (car or snake) bites you, it will more then likely kill you. Congratulations on your new Cobra, there is no cure
